The Family and their Ministry – ID 46
We are a young family serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Roger is originally from Switzerland, Cindy is indigenous from Vanuatu (an island nation in the South Pacific). English is our family language, our children’s first language as well as their school language. We have three children. Leilani (2009), Mataio (2013), and Manoah (2014). In 2012 we started establishing a new mission training community focusing on training young islanders to become missionaries among the unreached people groups of South East Asia. We are also running a Kindergarten for local children in our valley. We now lead a small team of international staff and are directing the ministry as a whole. Life at our mission base is simple. We are 20 minutes outside town, off the utilities grid. Our training has a strong sustainable technology focus (clean water, alternative construction, biogas, sustainable farming) together with Bible training. We run different workshops and seminars in the area of sustainable technologies and we run YWAM’s DTS (Discipleship Training School).

Other Charges: There are small mini van buses going to town from our location for 2$US one way. The supermarket in town is reasonably well stocked and prices compare to Australia and New Zealand (Vanuatu is not a cheap country). We would recommend about 250$US a month for pocket money (for soap, toothpaste, laundry powder, coffee shops, snacks, etc.)
Room: We live on a small mission community compound that is still being developed. The nanny will live in the single girls house together with 2-6 other girls. A younger nanny (18 – 25) would fit in well!

Other: One of our ministry focus’ is to mobilize Pacific Islanders into missions in Thailand and as a family we try to be part of this outreach efforts into Thailand. Therefore, depending on your time with us, you might get the opportunity to join us on one of these trips. While we would cover your basic ground fees you would have to raise funds for your airfare.
