The Family and their Ministry – ID 150

We work with survivors of human trafficking, by providing educational support and crafts for the girls who are currently residing in safe houses in the city of Cebu. We do this through the Frontier Missions movement of YWAM in the Philippines.

We have two children, Joshua born 2011 and Hannah born 2014. We are hoping to foster and adopt local children soon.

Our Website:

Primary duty: Homeschooling and childcare

Meal Prep?  Occasionally meal prep would be advantage, but not essential

House Cleaning?  We have a paid cleaner, but the nanny would be expected to keep her and the children’s area tidy

Child Care/Baby Sitting?  Yes, baby sitting and child care is essential.

Tutoring?  Included with the homeschooling.

Driving?  Not necessary (public transport is widely available)

Food Shopping?  Not necessary, though on rare occasion may be asked for.

Other duties or comments:  We would value, above all, a good relationship between the nanny and the children. We will introduce the nanny to our church, but of course she would have the freedom to attend the church of her choice. There would be space for the nanny to explore other personal pursuits and friendships.

Anything else?  Cebu is a large city with pockets of poverty but also pockets of wealth. There are plenty opportunities for ministry involvement. Although humid, our house has air conditioning. Most public areas, such as malls, restaurants and churches are air conditioned. There are numerous malls in Cebu and leisure activities, such as bowling, ice skating, movie theater are all easily accessible from our house. Public transport is also cheap. Cebu is a popular tourist destination, so there are lots of resorts with beaches and other attractions to enjoy. The nearest white sand beach is about 45 minutes drive away. We are accustomed to having others live with us. We have often lived in community and we’ve had many singles living with us in the past. We’d love to connect with the applicant over Skype/WhatsApp video/Google duo.
