BELIZE

The Family and their Ministry    ID 178

We are Raela and Ben, full time volunteer missionaries in Belize Central America. We both have been working with Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Children’s Home for over 5 years. LOL is a non-profit 501 C3 organization that looks after neglected and abandoned children that have been brought to the facility through the government of Belize. LOL can always use help with childcare, cooking, cleaning/organizing as well as assisting with various special projects like group outings.

My husband Ben and I have been married for a little over 3 years. We have been doing foster care through LOL for over a year. We are currently fostering 5 children, whom are all siblings and are relatively close in age. Due to the confidentiality that is required of us, I am unable to disclose actual names of the children in our care. But I will give an alias for each child: Mark (2002) Eric (2003) Karen (2005) Amanda (2007) and Steven (2008). We are expecting our first biological child in December of this year, and could not be more excited for this new phase of life.

Anything else? We are looking for the nanny to give a minimum of a 1 year commitment to work with our family and look after our kids. I will share that the 5 kids we are fostering do come from trauma and will need a patient, loving caretaker who all the while walks in their authority, who is good with following routine and being consistent . We would also like this nanny to be experienced in caring for newborns/infants. Most importantly we want a nanny who has a strong walk with the Lord and feels called to this mission field and to help our growing family.
